I started my code enforcement career in 2001 and have experience in all facets of code enforcement administration, ordinance development & implementation, community engagement, effective communication, but I especially LOVE working with individuals and municipalities to create effective and value-driven code enforcement that benefits their community and stakeholders.
I believe in a Solutions-Oriented approach to everything we do in code enforcement. As long as we are trying to solve problems, we will be an asset to our communities. I focus on working with people to build collaborative partnerships that strategically solve community problems or help grow their community's vibrancy and desirability. I believe that a code enforcement culture that rewards performance and outcomes is far superior to strict adherence to policy and punitive enforcement tools. If this sounds like a philosophy with which you agree, please call me so we can work together!
As "That Code Enforcement Guy" my primary goal is developing and delivering cost effective in-person or virtual training that provides immediate and tangible results for your staff and your organization. My training sessions range from 90 minutes to multiple days and are always designed to improve employee retention, motivate and build morale, and to equip leaders to be more effective. Everything I do is designed to enhance positivity as it relates to code enforcement in your community. Training sessions always include a mix of lecture, presentation, role-playing, break-outs, and other learning activities focused on your specific training needs.
Whether you are looking for an answer to a quick question, help developing a program, implementing a whole new system or process, or want help with anything remotely related to code enforcement, I am happy to help. Never do I charge for conversations or an occasional Q/A session. Whatever you need, let's talk. If I can deliver what you need, the price (if there is one) will always work itself out. Projects I've lead include:
* Program Development/Implementation
* Staff Development/Mentoring
* Media Relations & Training
* New Codes/Ordinances Development
* Operations Management
* Community Relations & Outreach
* Manager/Supervisor Coaching
* Conflict Resolution
* Policy/Procedure Development & Review
* Staff Training and Skill Development
I understand that every city, agency, and team member has unique situations and needs. Let's talk...I've got ideas that just might work!
